The Hands of Amfita
mittendi maleficorum

Native to wilderness and marsh, Amfita is sustained by virtuous intentions and kinship cantatas. Planted with thunderous ceremony by the Lok and Volk on the Eastern rising slope of the homecroft, a new tendril shoot appears (it is said) at the Birth of each and every of the kinfolk's Sentient Beings. The Hands of Amfita will dispel, for all who dwell therein, not one but all twelve known causes of human and creature suffering. So is the spoken truth spoken.

The twelve known causes of suffering: eternal feelings of insufficiency, inability to breathe a sigh of relief, confusion of cause and effect, forgetting where to put one's feet, inability to separate wheat from chaff, failure to cultivate one's jardin, unease with the varieties of silence, confusion about it begins, belief that a tree can be owned, unwillingness to face the musica, belief that animals do not know suffering, believing that anything is permanent.
